Myers-Brigg Personality

I went and did that Myers-Briggs personality test. I got INFJ, the Advocate. Apparently, I’m a little bit rare and special. When I read through the profile, I saw a bit that resonated with me and a little that didn’t. I wonder if these tests take in a person’s life experiences because I never really gravitated towards charity work like the profile said. I have a lot of distrust for places that claim they are a charity. I also fit into the turbulent side more than the assertive side. My husband, on the other hand, is an ENTJ. And I feel like he is my complete opposite, but we complement each other very well.

To write is to be free

From the title of this post you can see that I’ve put a lot of thought into how writing relates to myself. I managed to create this little sentence after months and months of deliberation and I’m quite proud of it. Not only that but I plan on getting it as a tattoo in the not too distant future.

I feel this way because I feel that writing is such a part of myself that no matter what happens it will always be there. I can’t really imagine a future where I don’t write. Stories have been with me since childhood and I am quite certain they’ll be with me until the day I die.

My writing gives me not only the practical aspects of having a hobby and eating up time, it also lets me explore at my own pace and within my own comfort zone the ‘innerness‘ of humanity. Even though my ideas are limited to myself and what I’ve stumbled across in my university education and internetings, aided with creative leaps. I have the compulsion to not only tell stories, but I also want to understand what drives people to do what they do, regardless of whether their actions are right or wrong by society’s standards.

All ideas are fair game.

Writing also offers a lot of freedom for a person. Even if no one else reads it, it offers the writer that special ability of being able to express themselves. This is especially valuable for people who do not or feel they do not have the ability. It gives them a voice in their otherwise voiceless world and it can give others voices.
